The Government is spending over €5m a year on advisers and press officers.

This new information is set to create a stir due to the inadequate state services in both the health and aviation sector here.

The Taoiseach’s Department alone spends a total of €1.5m every year on special advisors, press officers and personal assistants.

Meanwhile, Tánaiste Mary Harney spends just over €1m on PR assistants.
