Gardaí begin murder probe after Inchicore death

A murder inquiry has been launched after a woman was found stabbed to death at her flat in Dublin last night.

A murder inquiry has been launched after a woman was found stabbed to death at her flat in Dublin last night.

The 59-year-old woman was found stabbed to death at her home in Hamton Court, Inchicore, at 9pm last night. It is believed she may have been stabbed at least seven times.

A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing. He is being held for questioning at Kilmainham Garda Station.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later today while the scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Meanwhile gardaí in Dublin are also investigating the suspicious death of a 62-year-old man whose body was found in the bedroom of his home at St Georges Place on Thursday.

A post mortem carried out yesterday has established that the man had sustained injuries to the neck area.

Gardaí at Fitzgibbon Street are investigating.
