Salmon catch limited to 139,900

Marine Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher has announced the Total Allowable Catch for Salmon in 2005 will be 139,900 fish.

Marine Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher has announced the Total Allowable Catch for Salmon in 2005 will be 139,900 fish.

Minister Gallagher said: "I have weighted and considered all the serious objections received during the 30-day consultation period by my Department and decided to proceed with the figure proposed in the draft regulation.

"This figure is in line with the recommendations made to me by the National Salmon Commission and with the position adopted by my predecessors," said the Minister.
