A number of special masses are due to be held throughout Ireland this weekend in honour of the newly elected Pope Benedict XVI.

The Primate of All Ireland, Archbishop Sean Brady, will celebrate a special mass at St Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh this evening, while Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will officiate at another ceremony in Dublin's Pro-Cathedral.
