Minister for Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern has said the Government will continue to promote power-sharing in the North after the upcoming Westminster election.

The Democratic Unionist Party and Ulster Unionist Party have both made election pledges not to share power with Sinn Féin in the future.

"I think there still is a willingness on all parties that, if the conditions are right and people know what those conditions are, that there will be an effort to resurrect talks in the post-election situation," he said.
