SDLP man lodges complaint about PSNI with Ombudsman

An SDLP Assemblyman has lodged a complaint with the Police Ombudsman claiming the PSNI failed to press charges against a man who threatened him.

Mr Dallat said the man threatened him from a passing car in Coleraine, Co Derry.

The SDLP man said he noted the car's registration number and made a report to the PSNI, who warned him to take the threat seriously.

After consulting his family, he agreed to take part in an identity parade, but the police told him there was insufficient evidence to press ahead with the case.
