Most Catholic schools to close for Pope’s funeral

The majority if Catholic schools in Ireland are expected to close today to mark the funeral of Pope John Paul II.

The Department of Education had told schools that it was up to the local board of management to decide whether they wanted to give a children day off as a mark of respect to the Pontiff.
