The number of people killed on Ireland's roads so far this year is up slightly on the figures for the same period last year, according to the National Safety Council.

The number of people killed on Ireland's roads so far this year is up slightly on the figures for the same period last year, according to the National Safety Council.

The council said 85 people had died in road accidents so far in 2005, compared to 83 up to March 18, 2004.
