Man arrested after attempted murder in Co Antrim

Police in the North have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the attempted murder of another man in Co Antrim early this morning.

The victim, who is in his 40s, sustained serious head injuries during a disturbance at an address on Rathlin Road in Ballycastle shortly before 1am.

The man arrested in connection with the incident was detained at the scene and police said he was helping them with their inquiries.

They also confirmed they were treating the case as attempted murder.
