Police launched a murder inquiry today after the death of a man in south Belfast.

A patrol went to a flat in Hampton Drive after reports of a disturbance at around 3am and discovered a man seriously injured, said a Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman.

The man was given first aid at the scene but died almost immediately.

Two other men were found in the flat suffering from injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, and were taken to hospital.

The men were later arrested, said the spokesman.

Detectives investigating the death appealed for anyone in the area with any information about the death to contact them.
