PSNI remove mobile home in missing woman probe

Police searching for a Co Down woman missing after leaving a party on a caravan park more than a week ago have removed a mobile home from the site, they confirmed today.

The mobile home was being put through a detailed forensic examination, said a spokeswoman.

The family of 25-year-old Lisa Dorrian have become increasingly frantic about her safety as the days have stretched by.

Lisa has not been seen since leaving a party in the caravan park on the coast in the village of Ballyhalbert in the early hours of Monday February 28.

The police spokeswoman declined to say whether the caravan taken away for examination was the one in which the party took place or another.

Police insist they are treating their investigation as a missing person’s case and not a crime.

Nevertheless the PSNI announced yesterday that their Crime Operations Branch had taken over the investigation into the disappearance of the Bangor woman.

So far, they say, they have discovered no evidence to suggest a crime had been committed.
