Cork hospital A&E suffers overcrowding strain

Cork University Hospital has introduced restrictions on admissions to its Accident and Emergency department due to massive overcrowding in the unit this morning.

The hospital said the overcrowding had forced it to temporarily limit all admissions to those that arrive by ambulance.

It said other members of the public should contact their GP rather than seek treatment at the A&E unit.
