Construction company suspended from work permit scheme
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin has suspended the issuing of new work permits to GAMA Construction.
Minister Martin confirmed an investigation into complaints made against the company regarding breaches of employment law will continue.
No new work permits have issued to the company since the commencement of the investigation.
The Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment will continue to defer consideration of new work permit applications either received or already on hand from the company until the investigation is complete.
Minister Martin confirmed that his Department has reached an agreement with GAMA that no workers will be repatriated or moved from site to site in Ireland without prior reference to the Labour Inspectorate.
