Senior republican denies involvement in McCartney murder

The alleged senior republican accused of involvement in the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney has denied responsibility in a newspaper interview this morning.

Gerard Davidson told the Daily Ireland newspaper that he was not involved in the assault that led to Mr McCartney's death and had not ordered anyone to attack the 33-year-old.
