Labour Youth to campaign against EU constitution

The youth wing of the Labour Party has voted to oppose the proposed EU constitution despite support for the document among some of the party's leadership.

Delegates from Labour Youth voted over the weekend to campaign for a 'No' vote in the planned referendum on the constitution, which is designed to replace all existing EU treaties.

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte is believed to be in favour of the EU constitution although the party has yet to declare its position on the forthcoming referendum.
