Man dies in building accident at Ballymun towers site

A man was killed in a construction industry accident in Ballymun, Dublin, this morning.

He was working on the demolition of the Sean McDermott Tower when the accident happened shortly after 10am.

The man, who was in his 40s and from Liverpool, was taken to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ballymun Regeneration, the company working on the reconstruction of the tower block complex, has said that an investigation into the accident has been launched.
