Money-laundering probe: Man and woman released
A man and a woman arrested in Cork in connection with the massive money-laundering investigation by gardaí have been released without charge.
One man, arrested last night after he was seen burning sterling banknotes, is still being questioned by gardaí investigating a major money-laundering operation.
It comes as forensic tests are being carried out on money recovered to see if it is linked to last December’s Belfast bank robbery.
More than €3m has been discovered in a string of searches across the country in the investigation.
It is reported that further searches are expected around Ireland as part of the cross-border inquiry, in which eight people have so far been arrested.
