70 jobs on the line at Shannon communications firm

Seventy jobs are hanging in the balance this morning at the Pan European Communications company in Shannon, Co Clare.

The company was expected to announce its closure last night, but a source said management was waiting for clearance from their German bosses before any formal statement could be made.

Pan European Communications refused to confirm that the company was closing or that jobs would be lost, but said an announcement would be made later today.
