Three more men arrested in connection with Belfast murder

Police in the North have arrested three more men in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Robert McCartney in Belfast at the weekend.

The three, who were arrested after a house search in Killough, Co Down, today, are believed to include at least one senior figure in the republican movement.

Mr McCartney, who was from the nationalist Short Srand area, was stabbed to death during a row at a pub in Belfast city centre on Sunday night.

A total of six people have now been arrested in connection with the row, which is believed to have involved senior republicans.
