Limerick gardaí arrest six in drug probe
Gardaí in Limerick have arrested six men as part of an investigating into drug trafficking.
The six were arrested this morning as part of one of the largest ever crackdowns on the city's drug trafficking gangs.
Officers from the Limerick drugs unit and the national drugs unit moved in on addresses in Southill Park and St Mary’s Park just after dawn,
The men are all aged between 18 and 30 years and can be detained for up to seven days before they must be released or charged.
Around 60 gardaí were involved in the operation with support from the National Drugs Squad, sniffer dogs and a helicopter from the Air Support Unit.
