Credit card tax added €60m to state coffers
Credit card holders paid €60m in taxes on their cards last year.
€40 per card is charged in stamp duty every year, but new regulations coming into effect shortly mean customers can change cards without paying the tax twice.
€23m was also raised in taxes on ATM and Laser debit cards.
But the Irish Bankers' Federation says it understands these taxes will be scrapped later this year.
