The Migrant Rights Centre has claimed that government restrictions on social welfare are putting non-Irish workers at risk of poverty and homelessness.

The restrictions were introduced last year as part of government efforts to allay fears that an influx of workers from the 10 new EU member states would come to Ireland as "welfare tourists".
