Three locations short-listed for proposed North stadium
The authorities in the North have short-listed three possible locations for a proposed new multi-million pound sports stadium.
The locations are the site of the former Maze prison, the old Harland and Wolff shipyard (now called Titanic Quarter) and reclaimed land on the shores of Belfast Lough.
Twelve possible sites had originally been chosen, but nine have since been ruled out due to planning or transport problems.
The Maze site, already owned by the British government, is the favoured location for the stadium as the Titanic Quarter may be too expensive and the reclaimed land would have to be cleaned up as it is currently contaminated.
