Bad weather wreaks havoc in North as four die in road crashes
The bad weather affecting all parts of the country today wreaked havoc across the North overnight, with four men, including a father and son, killed in two separate road accidents.
The father and son died when their car collided with a van near Tobermore in Co Derry at around 6pm yesterday evening.
Two other men died when the cars they were driving collided on the Moira Road near Lisburn, Co Antrim, at around 9.30pm.
Motorists have been warned to take extra caution today due to treacherous driving conditions, while some schools have also closed due to the freezing temperatures.
Up to 15cms of snow fell on high ground in the North overnight, while powerlines were also brought down in Co Antrim, leaving around 1,000 homes without electricity.
