Body found in river confirmed as missing Galway man

The body recovered today from the River Fergus in Ennis, Co Clare, has now been officially identified as that of Aidan O'Donoghue.

The body recovered today from the River Fergus in Ennis, Co Clare, has now been officially identified as that of Aidan O'Donoghue.

The 27-year-old Galway man, from Caherglissane, Gort in County Galway, went missing last Sunday night after leaving a night club in Ennis town.

The body was discovered by Civil Defence Divers, shortly before 12pm today and was moved to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Ennis.

A post mortem examination is underway in Limerick.
