Police identify bank heist van
The van used in the £26.5m (€38m) Northern Bank robbery in Belfast before Christmas crossed the border from the Irish Republic a couple of hours before the raid, police revealed today.
Details of the van’s movements were given by police as the political implications of the IRA being blamed for the robbery by Chief Constable Hugh Orde were being debated by politicians at Westminster.
