Irishman on drugs charges in Spain
A 28-year-old Irishman is due to appear in court in Spain after being stopped at Alicante airport with 44 grams of cocaine in packets in his stomach.
The man was initially stopped when it was noticed he was attempting to travel to Dublin on a passport that was not his own.
The unidentified man was arrested on December 28 but police have only now released information about his arrest and scheduled appearance in court.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be around €4,500.
