Gardaí release name of Dublin murder victim

Gardaí in Dublin have named the Croatian man whose body was found in the Ballsbridge area of the city yesterday as 38-year-old Eldin Palangic.

Mr Palangic's body was found by a relative at an apartment on Pembroke Road in Ballsbridge at around 4pm yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí were initially treating the death as suspicious, but launched a full murder inquiry this morning after a post mortem showed that he had died from stab wounds.

Mr Palangic had been living in Ireland for more than a decade and worked as a chef in Blackrock.

Gardaí plan to speak to his friends and colleagues as part of their investigation into the murder.
