Man’s body found in Ballsbridge flat

Gardai have begun an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in an apartment on Dublin’s southside.

The man, aged in his late 30s, was found by a relative in the flat at Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge at 4pm this afternoon.

Gardai at nearby Donnybrook Garda Station said the Croatian national was found lying on the floor of the first-floor apartment.

It is believed he had suffered injuries to his upper body and neck but there were no obvious signs of a break-in.

State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a preliminary post mortem exam at the scene before the 38-year old’s body was removed to the city morgue in Marino for a full autopsy.

Gardai have not released the man’s name and have appealed to people with any information to come forward.
