Eight killed in weekend road accidents

The National Safety Council has called on motorists to be more conscious of the dangers of bad weather following another weekend of carnage on Ireland's roads.

Eight people were killed in accidents on both sides of the border, bringing the number of people killed on the roads in the Republic so far this year to more than 370.
