One in three first-year UCD students from private schools
One in three first-year students attending the country's largest university, UCD, came from fee-paying schools.
The list of feeder schools to University College Dublin is based on information from the State Examinations Commission and the CAO.
The new data shows the number of students from fee-paying second-level schools that were successful applicants at UCD this year.
Some 33% of this year's UCD first-year students came from schools, mostly in South Dublin, including Blackrock College, Gonzaga College, Alexandra and Loreto.
The Institute of Education on Leeson Street, a repeat Leaving Certificate school, tops the list with 259 students going to UCD.
It is the first time that the feeder school list includes repeat Leaving Cert students.
There are some concerns that the lists may not give a true picture, as some repeat-students might be counted twice and there are no figures available for how many students sat the Leaving Cert in each school.
