Unions representing workers at Aer Lingus are due to meet Transport Minister Martin Cullen this morning to discuss the Government's plans for the future of the national carrier.

Unions representing workers at Aer Lingus are due to meet Transport Minister Martin Cullen this morning to discuss the Government's plans for the future of the national carrier.

The cabinet is expected to decide in the New Year whether to allow private investment in the company, which needs a capital injection of around €1bn to purchase new aircraft.
