Govt may extend travel scheme for returning pensioners

The Government is considering extending the free travel scheme to Irish pensioners living in the EU who return home on holidays, it emerged today.

Social and Family Affairs minister Seamus Brennan said he would like to “facilitate” the provision but said that legal and administrative issues had to be first examined.
