Ahern: Alternative to photographic proof must be found

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said that an alternative to photographic proof of IRA decommissioning must be found in order to overcome the current impasse in the peace process.

The Irish and British governments' published their proposals for restoring power-sharing government in the North last week, but the deal was put on hold due to ongoing disagreement about IRA decommissioning.
