President Mary McAleese is due to begin a two-day trip to Liberia this morning to meet with Irish troops stationed in the west African nation.

More than 400 soldiers, mostly from the Munster area, have been deployed to the country as part of a UN peacekeeping mission designed to end a 14-year civil war.
