Govt facing €100m bill over charges to medical card holders

The Government is reportedly facing a compensation bill of more than €100m after admitting that it knew nursing home charges to medical card holders may have been illegal.

Reports this morning said lawyers were already preparing legal cases against the health boards because of the charges.
