Hospital denies foetuses were retained for research

Kerry General Hospital has denied that foetal remains that were stored at one of its laboratories for three years were retained for research purposes.

The hospital admitted last night that it had stored sample tissue from 11 miscarried foetuses, and placental tissue from another nine women who also had miscarriages.
