Rebel captain launches new Fota children's book

Cork All-Ireland winning hurling captain Ben O'Connor has launched Fota Wildlife Park's new children's book, "A Hare at Fota" today.

Written by the Director of Fota Wildlife Park, Dr Neil Stronach, the book tells the story of a young mountain hare called Rini and her adventures with other animals at Fota Wildlife Park.

Speaking at the launch of the book, Dr Stronach said, "I started working on this project in 2003, and it is wonderful to see it come to fruition. The response from people has been really great. I hope that each reader gets as much pleasure from reading the book, as I had in writing it."

All money raised from the sales of "A Hare at Fota" will go directly to the Riverine Rabbit Conservation project.

The book retails at €7.
