Taoiseach takes time out to view Zoo progress
The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern visited Dublin Zoo today to view progress on the new restaurant construction there.
The building will provide seating for 250 people indoors and a further 75 on the outdoor terrace, which boasts sweeping views of the zoo.
Mr Ahern said: "Dublin Zoo is undergoing a magnificent transformation. The new building which is designed and project managed by the Office of Public Works is really impressive and in keeping with the overall look and feel of the Zoo.
"I am delighted to see so much progress and the addition of the new restaurant will greatly enhance the visitor experience at Dublin Zoo".
The restaurant will open to the zoo's visitors on January 10 next.
Building will soon commence on improving the front entrance area of the Zoo, which will result in reduced queuing times during the peak season and allow visitors speedy entry.
