Hotel evacuated after fire in Limerick

Two people were taken to hospital and more than 100 evacuated from a Limerick hotel as a blaze broke out in a bedroom.

Two people were taken to hospital and more than 100 evacuated from a Limerick hotel as a blaze broke out in a bedroom.

Guests fled the building as a fire alarm woke them in the Fitzgerald Woodlands House Hotel in Adare at 4.45am, the Evening Echo reports today.

Six units of the fire brigade — four from Limerick, one from Newcastlewest and one from Rathkeale — tackled the fire.

One male guest and one male staff member were brought to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. Fire damage was confined to the bedroom where the fire started.
