Cullen announces €3.4m funding for Rural Transport Initiative

Transport Minister Martin Cullen has announced plans to spend €3.4m on developing rural transport next year.

Transport Minister Martin Cullen has announced plans to spend €3.4m on developing rural transport next year.

Announcing the spending on the Rural Transport Initiative today, Mr Cullen said it marked an increase of 15% over the 2004 allocation.

The minister said the money would be spent on improving connectivity between Irish towns and villages, which, he said, was crucial to future economic growth.
