Welfare payments may be disrupted by planned postal strike

Thousands of pensioners and other social welfare recipients are facing possible delays in their payments next week due to a planned strike by postal workers.

The company has warned that the action will shut down services on Wednesday and could also cause knock-on disruption to social welfare payments on Thursday and Friday.
