Junior Minister Ivor Callely has called for the erection of proper crash barriers on the M50 motorway following an accident yesterday that left three people critically injured.

Four others also suffered less serious injuries in the crash, which happened when a car crossed the central median between the Blanchardstown and Finglas exits and ploughed into oncoming traffic.
