Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams today stepped up the pressure on the DUP to cut a deal in the deadlock over the political institutions in Northern Ireland.

Mr Adams, who briefed his party’s national executive in Dublin this morning, said that agreement was needed “in the next very short while”.
