A 21-year-old Kilkenny man has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to two counts of attempted murder.

A 21-year-old Kilkenny man has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to two counts of attempted murder.

Mr Thomas Grady of Fatima Place, Kilkenny, denied two counts of the attempted murder of Mr Paul Barry (aged 30) at Hebron Road Kilkenny on Ocotober 10, 1999.

Mr Grady also denies two further counts of causing serious harm to Mr Barry by inflicting head injuries and inflicting burns to Mr Barry’s lower limbs.

A jury of seven men and five women were sworn in at the Central Criminal Court.

The trial is expected to last up to three weeks and is to begin on Thursday.
