Greens to propose hillwalking legislation

The Green Party will propose new legislation in the Dáil next week to make it mandatory for local authorities to list recognised rights of way in their county development plans.

No new routes would be established, but existing ones would be protected after being agreed upon by landowners and hillwalkers.
