Tánaiste disputes IMPACT claims
The Tánaiste and Minister for Health Mary Harney has rejected claims that there are bad pay and work conditions in the health sector.
She was reacting to a statement from the trade union IMPACT which said it will not co-operate with the new health reforms which come into effect on January 1.
IMPACT says it wants safeguards in relation to service continuity and working conditions.
Ms Harney said the claims by IMPACT are ironic, coming a day after the Government “invested a further billion of taxpayers money into the delivery of healthcare”.
