Patients group protest at A&E conditions

A new patients' representative group, Patients Together, will take to the streets of Dublin today to demonstrate over conditions at A&E departments across the country.

The group will march from the Garden of Remembrance to the Dáil at 2.30pm.

Spokeswoman Janette Byrne said the demonstration is for the people and has urging everybody to come out and join in.

She said: "This is about the people, and unfortunately I think we have made more of an impact, as ordinary people, over the last four weeks than many others have made in the last year, or two years.

"I think people are saying that it cannot get any worse and this is the time it has to stop."
