Labour and Green TDs disappointed with US election trend
Green Party chairman John Gormley has expressed his disappointment at the likely re-election of George W Bush as President of the United States.
Speaking at the announcement of a protest against in Dublin today, Mr Gormley said the result of yesterday's presidential election would be "bad for the United States and bad for the world community".
Labour Party TD Emmet Stagg, said he was "depressed" by the result, but the Irish people and others throughout the world had to accept the re-election.
"It is a reality that we have to accept and live with and deal with," he said.
Transport Minister Martin Cullen, meanwhile, said the Government would respect the vote of the US people and would continue to work with Mr Bush.
