Shots fired at PSNI station in Antrim

The PSNI is investigating an overnight gun attack on a police station in Randalstown, Co Antrim.

A number of shots were fired at the front gates of the station at around 10pm, but nobody was injured in the shooting.

Police believe the attack was carried out from a passing van that was later found burned out on the Creggan Road.

Police are linking it to an incident in which a family of five was held hostage in the town at gunpoint by four or five masked men.

The men demanded the keys of a van and locked the couple and their children in a room.
